Great Location! Lots of Activities

Easy walking distance to activities and services for an extended stay

We couldn’t have been more pleased with the location of this quaint motor-inn. A quick seven mile drive gets you to West Glacier, and the start of the Going to the Sun Road. Ten miles in the other direction down Highway 2 takes you to Columbia Falls, where there are fun markets on Thursdays in the summer.

Best of all for the location, there are tons of amenities and activities for kids and adults, all within walking distance in the tiny town of Coram. Next door is the Glacier Highline Adventure, an aerial ropes course, and a bit farther north is the Amazing Fun Center (they have a giant maze and go karts and bumper boats and mini golf and more!). There is a fun local live music venue across the street, and a distillery a few doors down. There are also two great restaurants and a gas station.

We enjoyed our cute little cabin too – clean, comfortable, affordable and nice private space! We’ll be back!

Family Trip? Fun Local Tips!

Iconic family trips to Glacier . . .

My favorite family trip is a visit to Glacier National Park, when we usually try to squeeze in something exciting like river-rafting. This is one of those activities that I love, and Glacier is a great place for it. Pretty much all the guides I’ve run into have really enjoyed their work (being a rafting guide is the kind of thing you pretty much have to do because you love it, it’s not for the fame and fortune, that’s for sure) and it shows; just make sure to do what they say!

If you’ve got kids with you, check out the Maze just down the street.  It’s walking distance if you’re in decent shape, and a few minutes’ drive if you’re not.  For the younger set it’s a lot of fun to try to find your way through the wooden walls.  They also have go-carts, which you have to be a certain height to drive, and bumper boats, which are a lot of fun no matter how old you are, especially when it’s ninety-some degrees. Everyone got very wet and had a good time.

The scenery, of course, is always a good reason to visit Montana.  There’s another reason: HUCKLEBERRIES.  Not too far from the motel is the Huckleberry Patch, which has the most amazing coffee, syrup, jams and other huckleberry-derived things you could ever hope for.  Breakfast is cheap, and they have huckleberry waffles (what a surprise)…grab that, and some coffee, and some huckleberry sodas for later! Then you’ll be set for whatever else you do for the day.

Good travels

Gateway to Glacier Bike Trail

A Brand New Bike Trail runs right through here!

The Gateway to Glacier bike trail and pedestrian path will be connects Hungry Horse to West Glacier, and passing right in front of Evergreen Motel! A beautiful, rolling seven mile pedal takes you to the entrance to Glacier National Park where you can continue by trail through the woods to Apgar Village at the foot of Lake McDonald. Bicycling to Logan Pass is also a popular activity, but hours for bikes on the alpine section of the Going to the Sun Road are limited – check with a park ranger before setting off to the top.
